Meet the Owner : Cafe Di Luna is the brain child of Ambreen Esmail, an artist, coffee enthusiast and passionate barrista. Ambreen Esmail has a degree in Fashion as well as extensive experience in the Bean Industry. Born in Pakistan, Ambreen grew up in Atlanta and moved to New York to further a career in Fashion but soon decided that she wanted to find a passion which served a purpose of service to the community. back in school at Hunter CUNY - Ambreen decided to major in Political Science. A full time student she worked as a manager at "CIMA" a coffee bar at the Parker Meridian Hotel, a regular pad for celebrities, later working as a PT manager & FT coffee associate at PORTO RICO coffee roasters in business since 1907. This is where Ambreen's Passion for history, service and her love for culture trickled into coffee. "Its the Culture & History of the Bean which fascinates her" The soul of the bean is the heart of the bean referring to the process...from cultivation and the farmers all the way to consumption - the people who bring life into coffee houses and who put passion into roasting. the coffee beans goes through a journey which involves all aspects of life. That is what Cafe Di Luna is about and that is the dream which is still in the baby stages - Ambreen is taking steps into the growth of the Cafe. Ambreen is living her dream one step at a time with the help of her devoted customers and the love of the BEAN!!!

Cafe Di Luna became an instant success due to the humble and honest attitude of the business. I started the company with a pay check from National car rental and lots of faith. many sacrifices were made and the struggles are never-ending...Cafe Di Luna has evolved into its own character and the sacrifices well worth. Every customer who walked in the first day is still a friend and some family, many helped in the start up of Cafe Di Luna II on 3rd street. furniture donated and gifts of every sort have put this cafe in place. it belongs to the community and it reflects the community. Unique in every way - The cafe is still working towards a goal which sets new standards in the industry which took away the cafe culture of old. Hope you too will be part of the new cafe revolution at Cafe Di Luna
